At that time some old ladies (pattigal) came for darsan of Periayva . One old lady told Periyava that my son used to say that I will beat you if I speak something.. Devotees who were were expecting a reply from Periyava that patti’s son must not say like that. But Periyava asked that old lady not to speak anything. If we observe mounam,(silence) and chant Periyava smaranai or bhagawan smarani, it would be better for us.Periyava aked that old lady to observe silence so that her son won’t get pavam . Thus Periyava explained a comlex thing in a simple manner.The old lady was asked to observe silence so that her son cannot get accumulated sins by beating her mother for opening her mouth. The old ladies were sent to the respective places.
Ramanar and gnanam
Similarly a lady went and complained to Ramanar that his daughter-in-law was not treating her. But Ramanar told her that atma is same and what is use of complaining? Ramanar narrated an incident when a man was day dreaming about a theft in a house, like a thief breaking almirah, going with jewels- in dream, he shouted thief,thief like that- another man who was sleeping got up and he very well knew that he was shouting in dream- asked him to be silent. The man who shouted as thief got up and he opened his eyes and found nothing. Similar the fight beween daughter-in-law and the mother-in-law.
Likewise, we are seeing many thing like mother-in-law,daughter-in-law.
Dhoties to temples by Periyava.
Periyava then visited R.K. pettai and other places. Sundaramurthy was asked to buy dhoties when he went to Walajah. Sundaramurthy got the dhoties and Periyava asked Sundaramurthy to keep the dhoties with him. Periyava visited 5 temples and gave the dhoties to the deities.
